Excited to share another fun branding project our team recently delivered. Our process began with name exploration by researching all of the dental offices and available domains in the area. We were originally leaning towards a location based name and away from the Doctors name but really loved how the letter quantities worked aesthetically. ⁣
⁣
From there, we explored some inspiration and taglines before we began the design process. ⁣
⁣

We have a few new connections made through clubhouse and elsewhere around the amazing web. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Lauren. I am the founder and CEO of EM. (Picture is the last professional pic taken two years ago with my daughter, might be time to update 🤣)⁣

Six years ago I started this business with a $50 Craigslist desk, two clients, and two babies in our 1,200 sq ft home. Today, I have a talented team and our office is much bigger than our little house was. Not saying that to brag, it’s just fun to look back and see where we came from. ⁣
⁣
Nothing about building this business has been glamorous or easy but I can say it has been worth it x1000. ⁣
⁣
The biggest lesson I can share is I have learned to become very intentional about who I give my time and energy to. I am very blessed to have a team and clients who I consider friends. We respect each other and value each other and that is a space I have craved to be in for a very long time. When you love what you do and the people you get to work with it never feels like work. ⁣
⁣
𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀: ⁣

🐾🐾 We have two German Shepherds, Jax & Lucy⁣ & a 😺 named Leo who hates them. Leo is also a bird killer and often brings us his prey. 🤦🏻‍♀️⁣

5 years ago I left my full time job to be home with my kids 🙎🏼‍♂️👶🏼 and take on a few freelance jobs. ⁣
⁣
I bought a desk from Craigslist for $50 and a used desktop computer for $300. I had one client. ⁣
⁣
Year one, surprise baby number 3 🙎🏼‍♂️👧🏻 👶🏼 was on the way, we bought our first home 🏡 and I spent most of that year working on the floor with a laptop in one hand and a baby in the other. A few referrals came in and I now had a handful of clients. ⁣
⁣
Year two, I hired a Mom helper to help with the kids and moved my office into the nursery. That babysitter (Ciara) became my very first employee and is now our lead SEO strategist and Web Designer. ⁣
⁣
Year three, we signed a lease on an adorable little office space in the old fair oaks village and couldn’t hire sub contractors fast enough to support our growing business. ⁣
⁣
Year four, we had outgrown that space, decided to sign a long term lease on a beautiful corporate space in Gold River and move to an in-house team model. This gave us the space to hire a third employee. And eventually a fourth. (Sydney & Alex)⁣
⁣
At the start of 2020 I could have never imagined we would have ended up working through a global pandemic. When I remembered that it had been 5 years this month that I started EM it didn’t feel right to celebrate. We have been working remotely like everyone else and it’s not really my style to share wins. I love to be behind the scenes, it’s just my comfort zone. ⁣

Today the girls and I went in to the office for the first time and I had to hold back the ugly cry. 😩 They surprised me with all of my favorite things and decorated my office to celebrate 5 years. 🍾⁣

I’m so thankful for this team. ⁣
⁣
I have never felt more confident in the direction we are going, and the quality of work we are delivering. This business has never been about money for me, it’s been about being able to have flexibility for my family and getting to do what I love with people who I adore. A huge thank you to my team for forcing me to look up from my work and look back at this journey. Thank you to our partners, friend, family, colleagues, mentors for you love and support these past 5 years.
